does the lexus GX 470 qualify for the new accelerated depreciation
schedules passed by congress this year? the car has a GVWR of exactly
6000 pounds and appeaers on some lists and not on others. obviously
this is a critical point as the car costs about 50K and the only
reason i would buy it is the tax break.

Passenger automobiles are defined in the code as having a weight of
6,000 pounds or less - IRC Section 280F(d)(5)(A). The auto would have
to weigh more than 6,000 pounds to qualify for real tax breaks.
