Question ID: 233536
I would like a MS Word macro to reformat some text that I have
downloaded. I have a sample document on my web site. Do not remove the
copyright notice on the material. Website is at:
http://homepage.mac.com/stevemcintosh/FileSharing1.html

Some of the text is non-recurring, so a conditional statement must be
in the macro.

Each article may contain "FOCUS - 1 of 41 DOCUMENTS" or it may simply
say "1 of 41 DOCUMENTS" or any other number of documents. I want the
macro to work and any set of downloaded articles from Nexis.

Hello manuka-ga

Do you think you can do the macros by Sunday? I have some text that I
need to run and if you cannot do the job by Sunday, let me know.

Thanks.

More specific information on which fields are always present (and if
they're always in the same order) would be nice, but I guess we can do
without.

In the sample document posted, the following fields appear without any
instructions (they're from later articles):
BYLINE:
DISTRIBUTION:
GRAPHIC:
B &H-ACC-NO:

It would be useful if you could indicate what you want done with
these, and any other fields that may appear. Also, the GRAPHIC: field
appeared at the end of an article (but before LOAD-DATE:) - are there
any other such fields?

Incidentally, the problem with the headers disappearing is simply that
you are deleting the section break after the LOAD-DATE: line as well
as the line itself.

Will have a look at this and see what I can come up with.

Change BYLINE to By:

Delete DISTRIBUTION

Unbold Graphic:

Delete B&H ACC-NO: or any other line that contains ACC-NO.

I would like all documents to look the same, no matter what the source
and be consistent with the title, author, date, body of text etc.

I am going to upload a new rawtext file so it has more data to work
with. I have bumped up the list price to $50.00.
