Where can I find old Canadian phone books from 1940's online

you looking for?  I found the 1942 Ottawa City Directory for sale, is

I am looking for someone who lived in Saskatchewan and Quebec in the
1940's, I do not know where, that is why I would like the directories
to browse thro'. I was told there is a web site similar to infospace.
I live in England therefore buying them is not an option

I live in Ottawa Canada's capitol.At the National Library of Canada
http://www.archives.ca/ they have phones books going back at least 30
years(at least for Ottawa).I don't think they are available online but
you may be able to get someone there to look for the information for
you and send you the results.

They have a list of researchers who will search for your information
at the archives(for a fee)presumably you won't pay for a failed
search.
