I like to play on Ebay, mostly reselling garage sale finds at a
profit. What I am now looking for is a manufactured item that would
be a good seller. I have a complete machine shop, and a so-so wood
shop. What would sell in the long term? Are there any current fads
that can be exploited? I do not wish to make "little wooden white
geese with polkadotted blue neckties", or anything of that sort, but
just as an example, perhaps "stationary steam engine kits" would be
more along the correct lines. I have thought of and researched movie
prop reproductions such as Star Wars light sabers, which would be fun
and profitable, but not too legal due to copyrights. There has to be
a gazillion items that can be made and sold, and I need some specific
ideas.

Hi,

A friend of mine has invented a 'Nut Cracker' for undoing wheel nuts
that are often too tight for the usual in-car spanners.

Could also form part of an emergency tool kit.

Dear Conch,

I recall an article <In German: Stren.de
http://www.stern.de/computer-technik/internet/index.html?eid=508359&nv=ex_hl>
that featured a German eBay business, selling "suprise packages" -
they have all sorts of flea-market stuff, and you cannot know
"exactly" what's in the suprise package. Wraped like a gift package,
this could be a good idea as "Man Gift" - a suprise box filled with
something "handy", or the box itself as humidor, etc.
