Hi there, There are many web sites that offer discounted hotel rates, and I checked some of the most popular sites for you, the official hotel websites, and found a general tip for getting cheaper rooms. Travel Now https://www.travelnow.com/ Venetian $139.95 Bellagio $149.95 Treasure Island $79.95 Places to Stay.com http://www.placestostay.com/index.html Venetian $138 Bellagio $149.95 Treasure Island $79.95 Expedia http://www.expedia.com/ Venetian $129 *CHEAPEST* Bellagio $129 *CHEAPEST* Treasure Island $69 Hotel Discounts http://www.hoteldiscounts.net/ Venetian $139.95 Bellagio $149.95 Treasure Island $79.95 Accommodation Line http://www.accomline.com/ Venetian $274 Bellagio $163 Treasure Island $98 Travelocity http://www.travelocity.com/ Venetian $139.95 Bellagio $149.95 Treasure Island $79.95 The hotels themselves have web pages, and they list their cheapest rates as: Bellagio http://www.bellagiolasvegas.com/ $159 Treasure Island http://www.treasureislandlasvegas.com/ $65 *CHEAPEST* Venetian http://www.venetian.com/ Their booking page wasn't working when I tried it: https://venetianreservations.com/resnet/lansaweb?procfun+rn+resnet+v15+funcparms+UP(A2560):;Gnet;? Getting the Best for Less at Hotels "Experienced travelers who are flexible can usually get a on deal on hotel rooms by waiting until the last minute to make their reservations. This doesn't work when a major event has every hotel room in a city booked weeks in advance, but during slow economic times or seasonal slumps, it's worth a try. What you do.- The day you want the room, call the specific hotel you want (not the chain 800 number). Ask for the assistant manager and explain that you want to stay at the hotel but would like to know what kind of a deal can be made. IF a suite is the only thing available, you'll get it for room rates or you may get discounts of up to 50%, which is much better for the hotel than an empty, non-paying room." http://www.travelsecrets.com/tricks/#best4less As always, feel free to request a clarification on any aspect of my answer. Best wishes, from robertskelton-ga |

Thanks for researching this. I gave the answer a low rating because I was expecting to find rates cheaper than the ones listed at the Hotel sites. The tip doesn't help me because I want to spend my time in Vegas enjoying the vacation, not looking for a place to stay. |

Your specification of only three hotels in Las Vegas for rates yielded one rate of $65 per night at Treasure Island. Circus Circus will have rates in the back buildings for as low as $40 per night but that is not what you specified. If you expand your list you will find cheaper rates. As the answerer pointed out, the dates of your stay are important since rates in Las Vegas vary greatly based on the conventions that are in town. In addition to the excellent websites shown in the answer, you may want to check out: http://lasvegashotelrates.net/ http://www.aandronline.com/hotels/las_vegas/ http://www.travelworm.com/ http://access-las-vegas.com/ http://www.mesquite-nv.com/hotel.htm http://www.las-vegas-hotel-lites.com/ http://las.vegas.hotelguide.net/ http://www.lvnv.com/ Also, if you are a high roller, many of the hotels will comp your room. Thank you for your question. Las Vegas is a great place to visit. Hope you have a terrific time. seedy |

Thank you for all of the links seedy. Maybe I should have given a higher rating. To me, the phrase "good price" means significantly better than the suggested retail price. I'm probably expecting too much. |

Robert G. While the hotel sites are offering special prices that don't differ much from the discount sites, that does not mean they are the "rack rates". Most hotels offer special discounts from time to time that are greatly different from the rack rates that they can get at other times. I've paid $349 in Las Vegas (Four Seasons) when a convention was in town and I needed to get there on short notice. Bellagio is also not cheap when they don't want to be....Remember...this is the time when their BAD season starts with very high temperatures. The special rates they list right now could change based on season or based on convention time. I think you were a little harsh with Robert Skelton but you are the customer and we aim to please so whatever we can provide to satisfy your request, we will try to do.... ie: Circus Circus is offering $55.95 for the period of June 24th for three nights changing to $95.95 for the period August 24th for three nights going back to $55.95 for the period November 24th for three nights. I think the $65 at Treasure Island is a great rate...at a delightful place at a good place on the strip. You can do better staying downtown but you miss the wonderful street activity of the strip....The street shows: Pirates in ships at Treasure Island, the water fountain at the Bellagio, the volcano at Mirage??.....where else can you go where you can visit New York, Paris, Venice, Lake Como, Egypt, Arabia, Rome etc in a single day....a few days if you want to lose your money at a slower pace... seedy |

Robert, The issue is that if you're wedded to particular hotels, finding a fabulous (e.g., significantly under retail price) price. However, if you're flexible about your hotels, you'll definitely be able to find a great price. I've had great luck with Priceline -- http://www. priceline.com I recommend putting in your dates, choosing "The Strip" as the location and opting for 5 stars (luxury). Then, put in the price you're willing to pay. It's really easy. I'd bet you could get a luxury hotel on the strip for $100 or less. An aside -- I'd guess that Bellagio (definitely) and The Venitian (probably) are in the luxury category, although I'd guess that Treasure Island is in a lower one. It's definitely worth a shot -- you don't have to pay anything if they don't accept your bid. This is for robertg. I was checking some interested questions and answers and came across your question with answers. It is totally unfair to give one star to the person who did research and gave you an excellent answer to your question. At present every customer is getting incredible answers for cheapest prices. If they find people like you on this google, the participants who are presently answering may run away!!!!!!! (just a warning) and we may not have people who can answer our questions with good research. At least from now onwards, we have to be really careful before we give the low star rating. (In your question, your expectations are not mentioned in any manner. It is unfair to imagine other person should read your mind). This comment is in no way to criticize you and do not take it serious. This is just to encourage the people who are really doing good research for low rates. Thanks in advance. EzMathTrix |

Thanks for your comment EzMathTrix. I did say in an earlier post that I probably should have given a higher rating. But I do think we should avoid inflated ratings. Answers will not improve if everyone gives a five star rating. I sure hope researchers don't run away because of "people like me." I've already spent $29 on two questions this week and I plan to spend more in the future. (I rated the other answer about Texas Municipal Courts five stars, by the way) |

Since discovering Las Vegas four years ago, we've returned twice per year since then, staying in a variety of locations from extreme high end to the middle. Some general thoughts that may help -- 1. At least once stay at the Venetian/Bellagio/Mandalay Bay extreme high end places, getting the best rates you can as described above, but recognizing that you'll still be paying a high per-night room charge. This will set your benchmark for future visits, and will satisfy any desires to experience the "best". Once you've been there, you'll begin to understand that, as long as you stay in the better 50% of hotels, a room is a room, and as long as it is a comfortable place to sleep, you'll likely be away it most of the time. 2. A rental car is a must for us, as we like the convenience of moving point to point on the Strip, going downtown, getting out of town when we want, without much hassle. This may change as the new monorail gets built out, particularly to Downtown, but for now we find we need one. 3. Don't forget to take a look at the Golden Nugget for a room -- Strip ambiance and dirt cheap pricing. I paid $59/night for a room Thursday and Sunday, and $79/night for the Friday and Saturday in-between. This, and they threw in a $50 free food credit. 4. Whichever hotel you decide on, make your reservation, but then call the hotel the night before you arrive, and ask them if you've received the best rate they currently offer. 95% of the time they will lower your rate considerably. 5. If you gamble, always get rated and/or sign-up and use the slot club in the casinos you visit. Even if you don't gamble enough to earn a free "comped" room for that visit, they will be likely to offer you "casino rate" rooms on your next visit, which can be quite inexpensive. I've stayed in the pyramid at the Luxor, several times at the Monte-Carlo, and my brother has stayed at the Mirage this way. 6. If you rent the car, you can stay at the Station hotels off strip very inexpensively, as well as any of the other "locals" hotels. It can be fun to gamble at these locations as well, because they can't compete with the Strip for sheer glitz and excitement, so they compete by having better odds and more payout on the machines. On the down side, don't under- estimate the drudge of being bleary-eyed and exhausted after a night of heavy fun, and still having to drive back to the hotel to get some sleep. This also mitigates against resorts like the MGM Grand, because of its size, and the Luxor pyramid (only one of the four corners has the elevator/inclinator that goes to your floor and room). 7. Have a friend with a space-banked timeshare? This can be a great way to stay in Las Vegas and pay a low per-night rate. One of our visits was through a RCI (?) timeshare my mother-in-law owns, and we stayed at the Olympian Palms resort. Very comfortable, and easy to get back and forth to the Strip by car. While not strictly an answer to the question posed, I hope this helps those visiting Las Vegas for the first or the fortieth time. For me, I'd relocate there permanently if other considerations didn't prevent it! |
