Dear Jane,
Business organisations face many challenges in the modern settings,
which consist of globalisation (the process of becoming global or
worldwide in scope or application), on the one hand, and
regionalisation (the division into regions) processes - seemingly
contradictive but actually interacting.
A busines organisation would have to learn to compete in a global -
not only on the local - one. It has to develope skills that would help
it function in a cross-cultural environment, in a transnational
communication and in international legal settings.
Small businesses might get weaker, handling with "giants", that manage
to set a foot in the international arena. On the other hand, economic
unification also means that a small business might find it easier to
insert their products into the global, or regional, market.
