Hi suevick,

The following is the result of my research on how to cancel AOL
services.

“How to Cancel AOL Account
To cancel your AOL account, call AOL at 1-888-265-8008. (An
alternative number is 1-800-605-4297.) You can also get aol
cancellation information by going to AOL Keyword: CANCEL, but you
cannot cancel an AOL Internet account online.”

In my experience, if you advise AOL that you want to cancel DURING
their free trial period, they will act on your request.

Obviously, if you don't tell them that you want to cancel then they
have no way of knowing.

probonopublico is correct, AOL should cancel your account without you
being billed as long as you cancel before your 30 day trial period is
up.
I was always so amazed at the number of people who willing enter their
credit card number when starting the trial, without reading the terms
of service right there on their screen!
I used to tell people it just as if they were to order phone service,
and then a week later decide they didn't want it anymore and unplugged
their phone. Would the phone company know that the person didn't want
service anymore?
When you call to cancel make sure you get a confirmation number. You
should also get a letter a few weeks later via the US mail with your
cancelation confirmation number as well.
