When I visit the site, my Google Toolbar shows a grey stripe, "current
page is not ranked by Google".

Would like an educated guess as to what has happened?

http://www.1x3x.com has had a page rank of 5 for the past two months
and still does today even after we refreshed the index page.

We are not seeking a guess. We would like to know why when we do a
Google search for "1x3x.com" we get "Sorry, no information is
available for the URL 1x3x.com" yet Google assigns a page rank of 5 to
the index page.

Has 1x3x.com been submitted to Google for indexing?

If so, when?

Has the Googlebot paid a visit? And if so, when? You can find out by
looking over your website's log files for an entry similar to:

64.68.82.74 - - [05/Jun/2003:19:22:15 -0800]
"GET /index.html HTTP/1.0" 200 42551 "-"
Goglebot/2.1 (http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)

If you are unfamiliar with how to access your log files, consult your
web host. This information -is- necessary in order to properly
'diagnose' the reason(s) for the delay.

I cannot explain why your site has a PR5, because I still get a grey
bar and your site is not in Google's index.

It is has almost certainly been removed because of duplicate content,
because you have so many similar sites:

and your possible participation in link farms:

...and you used to use invisible text at the bottom of your homepage:

It seems odd that only you see a grey bar. No one else reported
similar results.

Your guess that it "has almost certainly been removed because of
duplicate content" flies in the face of the hundreds of amazon.com
related sites hawking tools. These sites have duplicate content,
almost always sell the same products for the same prices, have page
rank, continue to be included in the Google index for more than a
year, almost invariable dominate tool search results and almost always
lead back to the amazon.com shopping cart.

Does Google apply one set of rules for amazon sites and other set of
rules for others?

You mentioned "possible participation in link farms" and pointed to a
page that included our site. We did not ask to be included on the
link you provided and cannot control the actions of others (including
competitors).

You wrote, "and you used to use invisible text at the bottom of your
homepage" and sited a cached page that was more than one year old that
looks nothing like our current home page.

None of the above comments answer why Google continues to assign
http://www.1x3x.com a PR of 5 yet seems to have excluded it from it's
index.
