I would like to get a list of all secondhand trade
magazines/periodicals in Central America. More importantly, I am
looking for buyers of secondhand goods, and to a lesser degree sellers
of them. In terms of finding buyers and sellers that list what they
have or what they want on the internet, I feel like I've covered the
bases, however if I could find additional resources through trade
magazines then that would help significantly. I will need all relevant
contact information. If you could give me websites and email addresses
as well that would be helpful. Many of these could be fee based
subscriptions as well as free local or national publications.
Hopefully many of these will have actual buyers and sellers of
products.

In case you don’t remember me (you’ve put to work quite a small crowd
these last days) I’m the one who researched on Latin American
Broadcasting Radios. (Thanks for your rating, by the way).

I had to work harder with this one. I took my time too, but made
myself sure I won’t need to complete information later --unless you
ask me for it.

In the beginning, I stuck to the indication of constraining the search
to printed secondhand trade magazines. Hence, I could gather
significant information about magazines in Central America, from
different sources --such as yellow pages, web directories, search
engines, on-line advertising.

However, it’s mostly impossible to determine whether any of them are
secondhand trade publications or not. Phrases like “secondhand goods”,
“sales magazines”, “buy and sell”, and others of that kind, both in
English and Spanish, would link to online secondhand sites, but were
of no use to distinguish printed magazines. Considering that these
sites may be useful for you as well, I’ll list here the corresponding
URLs. (See list # 1).

Yet, I think general printed magazines information might have some
interest for an eventual advertising campaign, whether they are
secondhand trade publications or not. Then, here they are. (See list #
2).

Likewise, those queries led me to lists of local secondhand traders,
that could be potential buyers or sellers of used goods, and those are
explicitly of your interest, so you’ll have them too. (See list # 3).
I’m sorry not to have found traders in Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
But I guess they would be, by exploring further than what I could all
the directories I’m posting below.

I hope you find the difference between what you requested and what you
get, a gain.

Hat's off to Guillermo for a Herculean effort.  I want to add to his
answer though.  Joel -- if you haven't already, you should DEFINITELY
look at the "Country Commercial Guides" prepared by the US Embassies
to individual countries.  They definitely have a ton of information,
including much of what you seem to be looking for -- major markets for
consumer goods in each country, key publications, key contacts, trade
fairs, etc.    I've excerpted some information from the 2001 guide for
Honduras, below, just to give you an idea of what they include.

If you want me to track down, excerpt some other countries for you,
just say the word.
