Hi,

I'm starting on an eCommerce project soon and will need to implement a
mechanism for validating online credit card payments. After doing some
research it seems that this would be no problem if my client had a US
bank account as there seem to be plenty of authorization services out
there for US people. (e.g. www.authorize.net)

The way I see it you need an ITA (Internet Trading Account) at a bank
and a service provider that will validate/process credit card payments
(like authorize.net). So what I'm looking for is a comparable service
that is available to people with a Belgian bank account (that is: a
service that will validate and process credit card transactions for
most major cards).

Optionally I would be interested in knowing what the costs/issues are
for opening a US account and transferring the money overseas.

Thanks,

Perhaps I should clarify: my client _is_ Belgian and has his bank
account there. But I want to accept world-wide online credit card
orders and therefore I require some sort of processing gateway that
will do the validation/processing. There exist many such services but
so far I have only been able to find US based services that require a
US bank account.

An exception to this seems to be http://www.easy-to-pay.com but they
work with bank statements to transfer the money to you. I would prefer
a "native" solution.

Belgium, as you must know, has adopted the Euro ... so your client
does not necessarily have to open a Belgian bank account ...
