This question was posted 6/24/2003 but has been slightly modified.

I am interested in obtaining documentable information concerning the
parentage of Thomas C. Dixon, Jr., born 8-6-1816 at James Island, SC;
married 1-29-1840 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Archdale
St.,Charleston, SC; died 1-21-1852; buried (I believe) on James
Island, but do not know where.
His wife was Eliza Jane Erhard (Erhardt), born 2-4-1816, died
9-29-1892.
Although I am interested in both of Thomas' parents, I am primarily
interested
in his mother's maiden name and her parent's names.
I don't have anything on Thomas' siblings although I was told he was
the youngest of about 10 children. I do have some info on Thomas Jr.
and Eliza's children.
They were:
1. Thomas Edward Dixon, Born 12/22/1840, Died 6/29/1892 (No record of
marriage)
2. Clara Amelia Erhard Dixon, Born 2/12/1843, Died 1/1919, Married
11/16/1862 to my grandfather (William D. Fischer)
3. William Augustus Dixon, Born 10/22/1846, Died 10/8/1848. (Died at
age 2)

All of the Dixons (Dixsons) named above were born, raised and died in
Charleston, S.C. or James Island, S.C., which is a suburb
ofCharleston,
and all except Thomas C. Jr.are buried in Magnolia Cemetery in
Charleston.
I am not certain where Thomas' parents were born but think it was
James Island.
I have found many references to a couple of Thomas Dixons from James
Island but have been unable to establish a documentable connection to
my Thomas.
