Hwo or what is suinthra; This is the nick name of a friend who has
studied Buddhism for years in Thailand.

In order to answer this question, it would be very helpful if you
could confirm the exact spelling of "suinthra." I'm aware that the
word is probably transliterated from another language anyways, but a
bit more information might help us track it down more accurately.

On another note, can you confirm that your friend studied the Theravad
(sometimes, derogatorily called "Hinayana" form of Buddhism? This is
the most common form in SE Asia, but some people might instead study
the Mahayana form of the religion from a Chinese teacher.
