I am trying to find Faye's Mermaids. All the addresses on Google are
dead ends. http://members.tripod.com/~fayesmermaids/index.html is just
one of the ones that does not work. I also found a phone number on
google that is no longer good.

I am looking for copies of her cross stitch mermaid patterns.

Can you help?

Greetings!

Since your question was posted,I have searched high and low for Faye's
Mermaids. I have sent out many emails to various mermaid related
websites and have received many replies.

Unfortunately, the news is not good. It seems Faye's Mermaids has
gone out of business.

Two of the people who replied to my emails were Patrice Stimpson of
Mermaid-Bay and Ed Tomes, the owner of a link site containing mermaid
and sea art.

Patrice said that she had known Faye, and in fact that Faye had
encouraged her to set up her website over 5 years ago. She says she
has lost touch with Faye since the business shut down.

According to Ed Tomes, Faye went out of business and sold her
inventory this past December. I inquired as to whether he purchased
the inventory or had access to an email address, website, or phone
number of anyone who may have access to Faye's remaining patterns. I
also asked if he had a direct link to Faye or a phone number.

This is a copy of the last email I received from Ed:
"Hi,
Sadly I did not purchase any of her mermaid patterns. As far as I know
she just disappeared. Many people bought her bulk itmes, but I am not
sure on her patterns. There is a very slim chance I might have some of
her mermaid pictures saved on some of my old floppy disk, well there
is a good chance there is. You see I saved a lot of mermaid items on
my old computer that I still have. I will have to take a look through
them and see if I can find them. There is a lot of disk to look
through. I don't have time during the week, but can you wait till
Saturday. I don't know how they will turn out. If I do have them, it
will just be the pictures I copied off her site. If you do want them
write to me on Friday and Saturday. You see my old computer is a Mac
and I can't look at the pictures on my IBM style computer. It will
mean a lot of work, but I will be willing to do it if you
like.........Ed"

I have written Ed, and thanked him for the information. I also
advised him that I would alert you to his offer of finding whatever
Faye items he may have stored away.

I am sorry it was not the answer you were hoping for, but at least you
know what happened to Faye's Mermaids.

It was a pleasure to assist you with your question.

Hi Mysterymom,

I'll write this as a comment, rather than an answer, because I don't
think we can find the contact information you are looking for
(although the secondary email address that I was able to find
hopefully gives you a little more to go on). From the pages that you
said you found (and that I checked through google) :

it seems that every site is either (a) a link to the faye's mermaids
(b) a guestbook entry from faye herself or (c) a dead link to her
website.

If she is no longer in business we could be out of luck with actually
contacting faye.

I'm assuming that you have the following information already :

From http://www.sunsout.com/retail_location_states/wi.htm, the snail
mail address and phone number.

Faye's Mermaids, N9041 Just Rd., Wausaukee, WI 54177
Tel : 715-854-2666. This phone number is in service, but I don't think
it is for Faye's Mermaids (Because the voice mail is not for somebody
called faye).

From http://206.67.59.71/addlink/addlink.html, there is an email
address :
mermaids@cybergal.com, however that email address is no longer in
service.

Here's what appears to be your last glimmer of hope...

I was able to see what her website looked like in February 2000 using
web.archive.org :

http://web.archive.org/web/20000208090309/http://fayesmermaids.safeshopper.com/

From this you get a second email address, fayek@cybrzn.com. This email
address does not immediately return to sender, so this may be your
only source of contact with the business.

There is a third email address, fayesmermaids@safeshopper.com
available from http://web.archive.org/web/20000925043356/http://fayesmermaids.safeshopper.com/about.htm
This email address does not bounce.

If I find out anything else, I'll add an additional comment, but you
may be a little too late tracking down this one.

For what its worth I found much the same information as calebu2, but I
found a few additional things as well.

This image gallery seems to have 'borrowed' images from Faye's
cross-stitch patterns for display in their image gallery. You may be
able to manipulate these to get a close aproximation of what you need:

I also found an additional older e-mail address that you may try to
use for contact.

Hi mysterymom1,

It looks like Faye's Mermaids has disappeared with nary a trace and
left only a faint, lingering trail in broken links. If your true
interest is finding cross stitch mermaids, here are some that you
might want to take a look at. Enjoy!
