Scdo1, This is an extremely broad question. I'm going to try and point you at a few web sites which may assist you further in your search. One productivity issue is usability. The "usability" of a computer or application on the internet can affect how easily a customer (or person browsing the internet) can browse and use a particular internet application. Obviously, a website that makes it easy for a customer to purchase an item will be more "usable" than one which requires many steps for the same task. Which, do you think, is more productive? [ http://www.upassoc.org/outreach/benefits.html ] [ http://www.upassoc.org/html/1999_archive/productivity_issues.html ] Usability Professionals Association explanation of how usability can increase productivity, among other benefits. [ http://www.ncpa.org/pd/economy/pd060600b.html ] National Center For Policy Analysis on a survey that assessed the internet's contribution to productivity. Another issue is time wasting by employees using the internet. The following website gives details on a possible solution. [ http://www.wavecrestcomputing.com/editorial/wconpolicy.html ] Editorial detailing how filtering employees' web browsing might increase productivity. Here's the general search I used to find these pages. Search Strategy: [ ://www.google.com/search?as_q=internet+productivity+issues&num=100&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images ] Google Search: internet + productivity + issues I hope this helps you! Please ask if you need clarification! /ephraim |
