Canadian author, Mordechai Richler  died in Montreal on July 3, 2001.
He wrote a year-round weekly column for the Montreal Gazette until
shortly before his death.

Unfortunately, you may only search the online archives of the Montreal
Gazette for the last 14 days.

However, you may back copies of the newspaper by contacting Customer
Service.

I can give you the contact information in order to do so.

That should say:

However, you may *ORDER* back copies of the newspaper by contacting customer
service.

Hello again Mickey007,


I got in touch with Customer Service at The Montreal Gazette to find
out how to order the back issue of the Gazette dated September 28,
1991.

Unfortunately, they only provide copies from one year back.



I then called the Jewish Public Library, the Concordia University
Library, and the Atwater Public Library. All these libraries required
me to present myself in person. I then called the Westmount Public
Library which was kind enough to give me the telephone number of the
Gazette Library.


I called the Gazette Library which located the article for me and sent
it to me by email free of charge.


I am pleased to say that I now have the article by Mordechai Richler
"Mordechai Richler pens his reply" in my possession.


Due to copyright restrictions I am not allowed to post the article
here.


However you can receive it as I did by calling directly to the Gazette
Library at 514-987-2583 and they will be happy to email you a copy as
well, or if you wish you may email the Gazette Library at
POnofrio@thegazette.canwest.com and request a copy of the article.
