Question ID: 236204
I am looking for a softcopy (original HTML and picture) of the
following article from "The 0nion."

"Rural Nebraskan Not Sure He Could Handle Frantic Pace Of Omaha"
vol 37 issue 1
OLD URL: http://www.onion.com/onion3701/rural_nebraskan.html
I believe it came out around Nov 2001.

Can someone send me this article in softcopy form, or point me to a
live archival URL for this article? I've already tried contacting the
Onion directly, and searching through archive.org, google.com, etc.
I'll pay $15 for the article with no picture.

Thanks,
Phil

Would you be willing to accept a hardcopy version as an answer? I am
fairly sure it has been published in a book, and would be happy to
confirm that, if this solution would be acceptable.

I'm specifically looking for the original HTML and graphic.

I suppose I could reconstruct it from the hardcopy, but am still
hoping that someone has a softcopy stashed away in an archive
somewhere.

Thanks for your response,
Phil

Hi bigphil-ga,

I'm able to give you a link that contains the text to the article, but
I do not have the graphics. Would that be acceptable to you?

luciaphile-ga

Volume 37, Issue 1 is the issue of 18 January-24 January 2001,
according to The Onion's "back issues" page:

It's interesting. Most of the Jan. 17th issue is available online
through the Wayback Machine, just not this particular article.

I also tried to see if someone had posted the text on usenet, but no
luck there either.

And of course, now I want to read the article ...

Thinking about it now, the dates 18 January-24 January 2001 actually
sound more reasonable... (not Nov 2001).

Thanks alls for checking this out.

Have you considered purchasing the back issue that contains the article?

Here's an opinion column that talks about the article:
