UK based distance learning course in classical music.
I live on a remote Scottish Island and wish to study classical music
history and theory (not playing music)to improve my understanding and
enjoyment. I have no qualifications in music and am not looking for a
qualification. I have read many books on the subject but wish to learn
more for my own pleasure. I cannot find a distance learning or online
course in classical music. I do not wish to study general music or
art, just classical music. Can anyone help me find a course?

Would this meet your needs? The courses can actually be accessed
online after free registration, and the fees only kick in if you want
tutor support and a piece of paper at the end. Note that in the
History module, you can limit yourself to Western Classical Music.
You could also study the Theory and Composition units, but leave all
the others, if you wish.
