I'm looking for a place where I can buy a CD that includes a song
called "If it don't fit don't force it". I believe the artist was
Kelli Patterson, and it was out around 1979.

I found another song with that title, but it wasn't the song I was
looking for.

The lyrics go..

If it don't fit don't force it

There are recordings of the song in several formats (LP, 45, CD box
set) available in current Ebay auctions. (I am certain that they
include the track you are seeking,although the spelling is slightly
different.) The long-out-of-print recordings are also listed at some
used-record websites, but I can't be certain of their actual
availability.

Would this information be a completely satisfactory answer?

I'm only interested in a CD. I would need the name of the CD (or
names) and one source to buy it. If EBay, I'd like the auction number,
if other CD seller, I would need enough information to get it into my

One correction to pinkfreud-ga's resourceful and prompt response to
your clarification.   The CD box offered on Ebay (by a very reliable
seller) does not in fact contain the entire "Funky Jams 7" CD but
instead contains a "best of" selection from the entire series of
"Funky Jam" CDs that was originally released on the Hubbub label.

In case you fail to acquire a CD, you may be interested in knowing
that the song in which you are interested was first released on a
Kellee Patterson LP called "Be Happy" in 1977.  Copies of that LP are
also available at Ebay and from various online out-of-print LP
dealers.  It was never released on CD.

Markj is correct about the eBay item. It does not have contents
identical to the CD listed by Dusty Groove. However, it does contain
the song "If It Don't Fit Don't Force It."
