Hi brainiacamok,
Thank you for your question.
Youre probably asking this question on a general level but I decided
to add a personal touch to it. :)
One would think that being a mother is a full time job, however, ever
since acquiring a computer and an internet connection Id been
thinking of constructive ways to use those tools during periods when
the kids were at school and the housework and other obligations were
completed.
In April 2002, I saw an advert to become a researcher for the new Beta
service that Google had recently started. This was a new and
challenging concept that caught my imagination, so I applied, and
subsequently went though the rigorous screening process.
The first part of the application process was to write a short essay
about myself and why I thought I'd be a good researcher. I was then
asked to choose 5 out of 25 questions to research and answer. I kept
it a secret from my family in case my application failed. It took what
seemed like an eternity before I was notified that Id been successful
with my application.
I derive much pleasure from researching interesting questions, and in
the process learning lots of new things. The work is supplemental and
any income helps to enhance my researching abilities as I strive to
continuously improve and provide better quality work. Being able to
buy my own Christmas and birthday presents for my loved ones is a
welcome bonus.
I hope that I have managed to answer your question to your
satisfaction.
If you have any further questions regarding my answer please dont
hesitate to ask.
Best regards,
