I'm trying to decide which companies I want to get a job with. I'm a
software developer. In spirit of computer nerdiness, let me define the
"ideal job" as the job which maximizes the function f(job) = (total
annual compensation)/(hours spent on job). In other words, a 60
hour/week job that pays $60,000 is equivalent to a 40 hours/week job
that pays $40,000. So, I'm not going to require that to answer this
question you find out what companies are absolutely best by the
metric, but what I want you to do is come back with 5 to 10 companies
that pay unusually good salaries to their software developers in
proportion to the amount of work required for the job.

With all due respect, you may want to consider either raising your
price or lowering your expectation of how many companies should
constitute a satisfactory answer.

At your current price, the Researcher who prepares your answer will be
paid exactly one dollar and fifty cents. Consider how much time it is
likely to take to compile a list of five to ten companies that meet
your requirements, and I think you'll agree that it's unlikely that a
professional person is going to want to spend that amount of time in
order to earn a dollar fifty.

Ummmmmm....  yeah, that's true. Here, let me quadruple the price...

I was watching Opera today and they mentioned this company as one of
