Dear Abomy,

I am answering this in comment, since I am not 100% sure of my answer.

The Arbeitsamt site refers to cases, where you ended your own work, as
eligable to unemployment benefits (see for example "Erklärung zur
Beendigung des Beschäftigungsverhältnisses"

If you worked for a year, you could get 6 months of unemployment
benefit. The caculations of the weekly sum are available at the
Arbeitsamt site, <http://www.arbeitsamt.de/hst/services/lis/alg/selbstberechnung/index.html>.
