Could it be Brest-Litovsk? http://www.encyclopediaofukraine.com/pages/B/R/Brest.htm Due to the often changing boundaries in this region it would be helpful to know when your grandfather was born and how long he lived there. |

I agree with FP, the most logical explanation of the name you gave is Brest-Litovsk. |
