I'm looking for a book that I read in elementary school, some time
between 1990 and 1993. The main character was a boy named Jan, who was
suffering from amnesia. There was also a girl named Ginny, who used a
cane while walking because she had no depth perception. Finally, there
was a machine named Matilda, which was used for evil purposes and
caused Jan's amnesia. I think that Jan and Ginny were related somehow,
and everyone in the family had special powers.

The book was probably at a 4th grade reading level, and it was a small
paperback. I would like to know the title and author.
