Question ID: 237309
We need to connect as many as possible TV's to a computer, all the
TV's would show different content (stored in hard DISK)

We can live with an intermediate hardware between computer and TV.

We are looking at a solution in around 100$ / Per TV (software and
Hardware)

Is there a reason for using TVs for your displays rather than computer monitors?

Well the solution.. require us to connect to TV... but if you can get
the work done by connecting to monitor.. post it in comment.. if it
works.. I would post another question.. with same amount to but
directed to your ID, you could answer it and collect the money...

I would like to keep this question pending.. who know some guy get the
solution for my original requirement :)

Well the clients would use PAL (insted of NTSC).. if that helps..

As mentioned earlier we are looking at a solution for $100 per TV..
and it could be a combination of hardwar and Software.. so VGA to TV
converter ($79 to
$150 each channel) is okay.. till the time we do not pay anything more
for software.. and also that we could control multiple content from
the same computer :)

Hello Rkm100,

Getting PC to output to television (NTSC) is a little harder than I
expected. Most cards have it bundled with either
 - video capture OR
 - display output
so that puts it pretty much out of your price range. The other
alternative is to use something like a VGA to TV converter ($79 to
$150 each channel). I can provide details on that if you are
interested.

Getting to a four display solution is much more straight forward.
Using a Microsoft reference,
  http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=296538
there are a large number of cards / chip sets that can support
multiple displays.

Two cards I am familiar with include:

Matrox
  http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/mms/home.cfm
both two display and four display cards available.

Colorgraphic
  http://www.colorgraphic.net/newsite/products/multiscreen_overview.asp
both two and four display cards available.

Both of these companies produce fine products that are well supported
on both Windows and Linux computers. Both operating systems have
software "built in" that allow you to arrange the displays and make
applications think it is displaying on a huge screen.

There are certainly other vendors with similar products. Search with
phrases such as
  multihead display
  multi screen display
  multiple display
and add / remove vendor or operating system names to focus on a
specific solution.

Interesting question. Are you perhaps thinking of a computer TV setup
capable of delivering independent output to all the TVs in the house?

There are enterprise content delivery systems, but they will be out of
your price range. I wonder if you could get several PCI video cards
with TV-out to work together? Pricewatch brings up some for $20, but
it has always been an issue in the past and I bet it still is that
they don't play well together...

Probably have to get the right combination of motherboard, video
cards, and OS to get the system working. Anyone else know about that?
