Hi kevin70, If you're referring to the co-author of Java Programming for Dummies, then I'd say ... he's so handsome because he presents a delightful contrast to the Dummies guy on the back cover: "Javaż Programming For Dummies®" [back cover] Amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/076450388X/ref=lib_dp_TBCV/102-0657631-6015315?v=glance&s=books&vi=reader&img=56#reader-link :-) - justaskscott Search term used on Google: "david koosis" [who else?] |

There's nothing like going directly to the source, so I actually contacted David Koosis and put the question to him. He explained it this way: "Hmmmm.... Why so handsome? I guess I owe it the powerful effects of certain pretzels that a colleague of mine provides to me." Obviously an inside joke that he chose to keep to himself, but nevertheless, there you have it. Regards; tutuzdad-ga PS: Thanks David. |

Pretzels can't be the answer. I eat pretzels, and I'm not handsome. |

Ah, but pinkfreud, Mr. Koosis said "certain" pretzels. These pretzels obviously have special powers! Anyway, we'll let probonopublico decide whether or not you are handsome, with or without magic pretzels. ;-) |

Hi, Justaskscott Thank you for the interesting question 'Is Pinky handsome?' May I first point out that this response is provided by way of information only and it is no substitute for professional advice from your lawyer or medical practitioner. Secondly, terminology may differ depending on where you live. For example, I live in a place that is jocularly referred to as 'Great Britain' even though the performance of the English cricketers is currently the pits. Here, the only things that we call 'handsome' are the horse-drawn cabs that used to be popular in London. However, a Search strategy for the word 'handsome' produced the following: http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=handsome 1 chiefly dialect : APPROPRIATE, SUITABLE 2 : moderately large : SIZABLE <a painting that commanded a handsome price> 3 : marked by skill or cleverness : ADROIT 4 : marked by graciousness or generosity : LIBERAL <handsome contributions to charity> 5 : having a pleasing and usually impressive or dignified appearance synonym see BEAUTIFUL Using this as a guide, I would say that Pinky satisfies the criteria listed in 1, 3, 4 and 5 but, I suspect, that she might fail to meet Criterion #2. Now, my dilemma is 'Should I give her the benefit of the doubt on Criterion 2?' Well, recalling that she is a Goddess, after all, I now award her 5 Meteors: ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ And also a generous tip: She can have HALF of my next piece of good fortune that arrives in my email from Nigeria. If you are not happy with this answer, please post a Clarification Request before giving me an unfavourable rating or demanding your money back. Many thanks. |
