Dear Sir/Madam, Hello, I'm the administrator of a company with below specification: 1- 1 A.D. Server that run on Win2k Advanced Server with 55 Per Seat License. 2- Web Server (IIS Server) on Win2k Advanced Server. 3- 12 Win2k Professional (as clients). 4- 40 Windows 98 (as clients). I set complexity password policy on these servers and after that I change my administration password , unfortunately I forgot it. I heard that Windows 2000 has a feature that I can recover my administrator password even I can't log on interactive. Please help me and tell me what should I do? it's very urgent and important for me to recover my administration password. Yours Sincerely. Ahmad Reza |

Hello: You can't recover the administrator password on a Windows 2000, but the solution is to blank it and setup a new one, this handy utility has *saved* me more than once ;-) Offline NT Password & Registry Editor, Bootdisk http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html I use the ISO, you burn it and you can boot from it: ISO http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/cd030426.zip Once you boot, there is a simple wizard which will let you to blank the admin password, so you can log in again with no password and setup your own.
