i am looking for information on Auction alerts.
prior to 1997 basically in 1996.
what i need is information on any company that ALERTED PEOPLE BY EMAIL
ALERT OF AN ONLINE AUCTION PRIOR TO THE AUCTION HAPPENING. SO I WOULD
BE ALERTED ON MY EMAIL THAT I CAN BID ON A UP AND COMING AUCTION AND I
CAN REPLY BACK BY EMAIL WITH MY BID REQUEST. SPECIFICALLY IN THE

Hello gordauto-ga,

I have done some research for you, and shall appreciate if you could
please clarify a bit.

What would you like to see in the publication and should it also have
been in 1996-1997?
Are you still interested in identifying a company that provided these
services, and would a current one be useful to you?

Regards,

vitalmed-ga

Yes thank you i would like to see the publication between 1996 and
1997 and yes i would like to see the company
what i would like to see in the publication is the company that states
it provides a email alert just prior to an auction happening.
example: a company sends out a car on his online auction and it goes
to a plurality of computers or wireless devices. the persons on the
reciving end get an alert of the coming auction and can bid back to
the requesting person with a bid. and publication worldwide would
help. the persons reciving the bid can get bids anywhere anytime 24/7

thanks for your help.

and example of the email alert, it can be sent out to a pager, or a
blackberry deivce or simaler deivce which notifys by a beep that an
auction is about to take place and the person can respond to the
message and bid from the wireless device. but i need publications on
that prior to 1997

thanks

Hello gordauto-ga,

I have followed up and spoken to people at the major online automobile
auction companies, particularly those who were familiar with the
company's history. Some of them did have auctions online at the time,
but none of them that I could ascertain had e-mail alerts. Would this
list and a current directory of autombile auction companies be useful
to you in terms of an answer?

Best regards,

no it has to be specifically email alert notification. if there is
any publication prior to 1996 it would help and it does not
nessacarily have to be automotive sites. as long as it is a site the
emails the bidder to a wireless deivce and/or computer about an
upcoming auction. i need publication material from 1996 and prior
stating this. the bidder also has to be able to bid back on the alert
from after the notification

thanks
