Clarification of question ID 237904. The original question was posted
on 6/16/2003 ID 222134. I also wish to clarify the response dated
8/1/2003. I do not have access to the Irish 1840 Census. Catherine
Shea was the daughter of Phillip Shea and Ellen Burns (Byrnes). She
was born about 1840 in the Parish of Donoughmore, county Cork,
Ireland. Her brother timothy emigrated to US as the story goes. They
are the only family members who emigrated. To be of help I might add
that Catherine' Brother John married Ellen Mullane who had a sister
Mary in Washington, DC who married a Patrick Martin. The question is
would Catherine be found in DC. The problem is I do not know her
married name. The Mullane's are buried in the cemetery at Newberry
near Mallow in the Parish of Glantane. Unfortunately, the tombstone's
in these cemeteries are very old and the names cannot be read. I do
not have access at this time to Church records. There are several
possiblities of Parishes depending on her movement in Ireland. Thank
you for checking into this query.
