How long ago was your first submission? Has any text been indexed from the site?

I made my first request to index site about 6 months ago....then my
second request about 1 month ago. The text on the home page
www.painetworks.com was indexed...however, the approx 280,000 JPEG
images (with descriptive text) in the sub directory
http://www.painetworks.com/indicies.html
was not indexed

Hi there,

The most likely reason is that Google chose not to follow the link
from your home page to http://www.painetworks.com/indicies.html

This would be because of the use of hidden text alongside the link,
and/or that the link consists of just an asterix, rather than a word
or phrase.

Google's guidelines state:

"Avoid hidden text or hidden links."

The solution would be to make the link look normal, and/or submit the
page at http://www.painetworks.com/indicies.html to Google, rather
than just the home page.

Best wishes,

robert,

Would the fact www.painetworks.com is a commercial site designed sell
images (photos) cause google not to index the site beyond the home
page?

regards,

mark

It is unlikely that Google cares. The opposite is much more likely to
be true - webmasters protecting their images from search engines and
copying.

If Google were to look for certain keywords as clues to the commercial
nature of your site, then this page would make it difficult:

How do I ORDER images and what are the PRICES for images?
How do I access the FREE PHOTO RESEARCH SERVICE?
How do I SUBMIT photos for review?
How do I SCAN images for submitting to Painet?
How do I view the HISTORY & MISSION of Painet?
http://www.painetworks.com/info.html

The words free and submit would most likely nullify the words order
and prices.

I have never heard of Google making a decision to exclude content
based on it being of a commercial nature, be it text or images.
