Did the Michel spire survive undamaged by allied bombing or shelling of Hamburg during World War Two? |

Hello. The spire did survive World War II. A 1945 photo shows that much of the church was badly damaged, but the spire was still standing. "Most serious of all, the church was hit shortly before the end of the war in 1945. As a result, the roof and the interior of the church were severely damaged. Once the damage had been cleared away the church was finally consecrated on 19th October 1952. At the end of the 1970s, serious damage to the tower was discovered. " source: ST.
