Looking for a fresh take from fellow researchers (I guess I'm
semi-retired:-)
I recently created a 30" x 30" PDF poster for diagnosing PC boot
failure with flowcharts excerpted from a recent book I published. The
poster is linked to the main page, at
http://www.fonerbooks.com/pcrepair.htm
I did the poster as a giveaway to a computer business owners group I
participate in, thinking it would be a good way to fill some wall
space in a computer shop with something that was interesting and
useful. Since then, I've gotten requests to actually provide the
poster, since you need an E size plotter or a trip to a print shop to
print it at full size.
I'm fluent in the book publishing business, but I don't know anything
about the poster business, and I'm not interested in selling posters
direct myself. I'm interested in some general advice from somebody who
has actually been involved in the publication of a poster through
whatever the usual channels are, as to whether or there's any
financial incentive to even look for a poster publisher, and what sort
of royalties and contract conditions are normal.
If the question remains open for a couple days, and nobody actually
has any hands on experience, I'll settle for a standard answer, as
long as it includes a link to a web page or discussion group post that
describes a first-person experience in the poster business.
Thanks,
