andy75-ga,

I have assembled the following list of software development companies
that are either located in or do business in the East Anglia region of
the UK.

The only way to find out if they are currently seeking programmers is
to e-mail them an inquiry. Even if they're not looking right this
minute, all software concerns know that they need programming talent
to stay competitive, so they usually accept resumes/C.V's all the
time. Send a cover letter and resume explaining your interests to each
of the companies on the following list. You will get results.
Obviously, if the sites have a "Jobs", "Careers" or "Employment" link,
click on it. If they have a "Search" box, enter keywords, "Jobs",
"Careers" or "Employment." If that fails to turn up anything, click on
"Contacts" and send them an e-mail, fax or snail mail (but e-mail is
preferred in the IT field), inquiring about programmer positions.
Here's the list:

1. The East Anglia Business Directory: "This page is dedicated to
computer software in East Anglia." This site lists several software
companies in the East Anglia area. Link:

2. SoftJam Software: This company appears to be a retail seller of
software in many different areas, but it's still worth e-mailing them
to find out for certain if they have any programmer jobs. Link:

3. PC World: "pcworld.co.uk compliments our high street presence,
building upon our commitment to meet all of our customers’ computing
needs. We offer a vast range of competitively priced products from
thousands of carefully selected lines. We aim to deliver a fast, no
fuss and secure online shopping experience every time you visit our
site." Go to this link and click on "Jobs" from the main menu on the
left side:

you are not qualified, to gain experience in the application process
and to let them know you're out there.
