Dear Charles, "Sales of pickup trucks in the United States have increased from 1.5 million in 1981 to 2 million in 1991. The number of these vehicles on the road increased from approximately 35 million in 1980 to 56 million in 1990." (Source: "Transporting Passengers In Pickup Trucks Is Unlawful" A Newsletter for Members of Western Growers Association, March 1996, <http://www.wga.com/old_pages/Sa030196.htm>). The most popular model is Ford's F-150 (See: "Hankook Tire Press Release", June 11, 2003, http://www.hankooktire.co.kr/hantax/english/news_ad/press_release/page12/main.html) A good analysis of the US Pickup market is available at : PAG is a Sideshow, JERRY FLINT, Ward's Auto World, Jun 1, 2002 http://waw.wardsauto.com/ar/auto_pag_sideshow_2/ I hope this answers yout question. In order to answer it, I used a search strategy, that included a search for the term "pickup trucks" with terms such as "sales" etc. If you need any clarification on this answer, please let me know before you rate it. |

I'll guess 20 million different pick up trucks are moving on the road at least once per month in the USA including Alaska, Hawii and Purto Rico. An other million rarely move, but are for sale, Another million are not moving, but the owners have good intentions of repairing them. Perhaps two million are not moving for a wide varity of reasons, such as being used for parts and/or awaiting the crusher. Neil |
