Hi Randy,
Thanks to my wonderful colleague knowledge_seeker (another dog lover!)
we have an answer for you. Don't spend a lot on expensive equipment.
(whew!)
You can construct your own O2 tent (oxygen tent) using a dog crate (or
box) and some plastic and an O2 tank.
Look at what the dog is in at the vet hospital so you can judge the
size appropriate for the dog. Also, be sure to ask the vet how much
02 the dog should get, and how often... and most importantly, how to
recognize when the dog needs to be put in and when he needs to be
taken out.
There's no reason for you to spend $1000 when all you really need is
an enclosed space where the 02 concentration is high. Any travel
crate, with the holes sealed up with plastic should do fine. There's
nothing magical about an actual "Oxygen tent."
Also ask about an 02 mask. Maybe you could buy something from the vets
office(like an anesthesia mask) that can be strapped onto the dog's
face and hooked up to an oxygen tank. The success of this, of course,
would depend on the temperament of the dog.

If the Poodle is little, you might go to a local neonatal hospital and
buy one of these: Disposable Infant Oxygen Hoods
http://www.utahmed.com/disposa.htm
Better Than Tents
"Disposa-HoodTM also provides better performance than cumbersome,
inefficient tents. The Disposa-HoodTM is ready to use right out of the
box, saving the time and eliminating the frustration involved with
setting up the tent. The seamless, transparent design eliminates
guesswork when the neonate requires visual assessment. Efficient
distribution of the FiO2 and flushing of the CO2 are important
benefits of the rounded Disposa-HoodTM shape, a flow design which can
not be found in the available tents.
With the wide range of sizes available and the advantages that
Disposa-HoodTM offers, there is no reason to accept less than the best
possible oxygen delivery system."
*****
Finally, maybe there is a local vet hospital where you could bring the
dog to regularly for O2 treatment. In either case, you need to check
into that, if you're going go away for more than a day.
I hope this information is helpful for you and your poodle baby.
(They act so much like humans it's scary!)
Bless you,

Hi Randy,
I'm posting the email I received from the seller. His contact
information is at the bottom of his email. I have sent him an email
letting him know a gentleman named Randy will be contacting him.
If you are interested in seeing the photos that he attached, please
let me know, and I'll post them where you can view them. Here is his
email to me:
"HI Toby,
Its sitting on a Pallet the unit is complete, it does not include a
manual
for it. The stand has been disassembled so its smaller on the pallet.
Its
a Pediatric Oxygen Tent though it can be used for adults. I just deal
with
capital equipment not disposables, so you would have to buy the canopy
from a hospital supply place. IF it is for an individual I will need a
doctors
prescription that "WILL BE VERIFIED!" IF it is for a leasing company
and/or
a hospital a purchase order with the facilities nomenclature will be
appropriate
please see my sig card below for my fax number. The Tent is being sold
"AS-IS"
It has sat for about 6 months here in Indianapolis so I strongly
suggest that upon arrival before use after putting it together that it
be checked out by a competent biomed for proper function.
I take Visa, MC, Discover Paypal by check only, Wire Transfer, and
Western Union.
I DO "NOT" accept letters of credit! I will accept a certified
Cashiers check however due to a lot of fraudulent behavior in the past
few months I will not allow shipping of the unit until I am sure that
the check has cleared.
I will NOT accept a check that is for more then the $1000 requested
for the tent unless the funding is to cover the shipping as well.
Additionally I will not ship this unit until it has been paid for and
shipping has either been paid for or arranged to be paid by you or
your client upon pick-up. Please see the attached pix. One shows upon
zoom in the serial number of the unit. The other is just the basic
tent though this has the water reservoir, large bore tubing, the
stand, squirrel cage, and squirrel cage cover. Please advise me in the
near future if you are or are not buying the unit. I've got a fellow
from Ethiopia that is considering the unit along with a fellow from
the a hospital out west in AZ. Thank you for your time.

Randy,
I just called Jeff, the seller. He wasn't in, but I left a detailed
message and explained you will be in touch with him. If he calls me
back, I will post what we talked about. I will be out for most of the
day, but I'll have my cell with me, just in case he decides to call.
He's the owner of a Medical Supply Company, and quite possibly doesn't
work on the weekends. I let you know what I find out. (Keeping my
fingers crossed!)
Best regards,

Bring them on. Do they understand the "terms?" Do they understand that
it
does NOT include a manual, a canopy, or an air compressor? Thanks for
your
assistance." JW
