I am seeking the title and author of a children's picture book I read in the time frame of 1964 - 1972. A child (a boy, I think) built a little house for his pet turtle. As he acquired more and larger pets, he added on to the house, stacking the smaller pet houses atop the larger ones until finally, he had a horse's stable on the bottom, and at the very top of the stack of "houses" was the original turtle house. This may have been part of the "I Can Read It All By Myself" series, but I don't think it was written by Dr. Seuss. Thank you. |
