Question ID: 240257
I have a Cingular Wireless phone with SMS Message capability. I have
an E-mail address for work, that can be forewarded to any other e-mail
address. I am looking for a service, E-mail Provider, or program for
my computer, that can notify me via SMS when I get New E-mail, and
tell me the sender information along with the subject of the mail. I
will be paying for this out of my pocket, not the buisness so price is
the key. With the limited capabilities of SMS (i.e. the limit on the
number of characters) I do not want it to even try to send the message
body of the E-mail. It would simply waste my time and money.

Thanks

Hi,
I know that msn messenger can send alerts. For this you need a hotmail
account though and you can set up alerts and filters for the alerts as
well. For Example : you just get alerts only when you an email from
certain senders. Also you can get other alerts -- weather, traffic
from msn as well.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Use YahooMail and YahooAlerts. The problem I had with MSN is that
hotmail can alert you, but won't alert you and also delete the
message. Yahoo can do that -- notify your cell/pager, and then delete
the message.
