Hello meche-ga,

I’ve found some evidence of timeshare frauds with Mayan Palace Resorts
at the following sites. You can review the warnings and discussions to
see how serious a problem exists with this timeshare company. Be sure
to review the resources available in the first link below which give
you instructions on what to do if you think you’ve been a victim of
fraud.

Good luck.

Please note that there are many excellent timeshare resorts/companies
in Mexico that do not practice fraud and deception to sell their
product, and that you should not be afraid to purchase timeshare in
Mexico. Having said that, we are obligated to report on instances of
fraud that ARE perpetrated, in Mexico and elsewhere, and the following
reports are instances that have been reported to The Timeshare Beat.

Mayan Palace Fraud Alert
This letter detailing the experiences of Travis and Cindy Deane with
the Mayan Palace sales process in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is being
shared with our readers at their request. It is intended as both a
warning and as information to the public about the sales tactics used
by the personnel who are selling at the Mayan Palace resorts, and in
our experience is representative of the sales process at all of the
Mayan Palace resorts in Mexico. Current timeshare owners especially
should take heed, as you are a favored target of the "phony table
buy-back" routine as presented here. For more instances of fraud
perpetrated at Royal Mayan and other Mexican timeshare resorts, click
here. UPDATE May 10: Please note that the Deanes and Mayan Palace are
resolving this situation

NOTE from the Ombudsman: Contrary to Mr. Phillips' belief, there are
many timeshare resorts/companies in Mexico that do not practice fraud
in order to sell their product. As was the case in earlier times (and
still, in some cases) within the United States, the corrupt timeshare
companies in Mexico are giving all the rest a black eye that may be
difficult to recover from.
