I have created a new website www.euro-names.com each day I monitor its rankings in Alexa ( I know that Alexa uses its own customers activity to rank its sites etc) Over the last few days my sites rank has moved upwards from 1m + to 100,000 however looking at the sites visitor counter very few if any new visitors appear to been to the page - the hit counter has gone from 30 to 41 some of which will be my own vists. Also the hosting companies site logs show very little "traffic". How can the hit counter and web logs be consistent with the Alexa data? Clare |

I would use it just as a guide, rather than an accurate indication of traffic. One of my sites has extremely consistent traffic, with less than 10% fluctuation per week - yet at Alexa it varies from 85,000 to 35,000, up and down like a yo-yo. |
