"Way Out West in Wyoming" is a theme/catch-phrase from a book my wife
read in the 70's (her high-school made it into a theatrical
production, and she wants to read the book again).

She *thought* the title was "Way Out West in Wyoming" but there's no
such book.

What's the title? thnx

Hello Approach,

Wagons West #3: Wyoming! by Dana Fuller Ross.

“Men, women, children stake their all on America's first wagon train
pushing its way westward. Their survival depends on men like wagon
master Whip Holt.”

Way out West; recollections and tales
by Merriam, H. G. (Compiled by)1969

“Through diaries, original accounts and handed-down tales the pioneers
tell their own stories in their own way. The reminiscences range from
adventures with warring Indians to the hardships of a ranch wife, from
the experiences of an English blue blood to the trials of a minister
who had to prove himself the physical equal of the rough miners.”

Would one of the above books be the one your wife is looking for?

Thanks

I'm not sure. I'll check with my wife and post another comment. Gotta
be subtle--I'm going to buy the book for her bday (I hope!).

I do know that the phrase "Way out west in Wyoming" is featured in the
book.

thanks!

Powder River by E I Thompson
          1918
          Broadside. (Publisher)
          Cheyenne, Wyo.,

This book according to the Worldcat library catalog has a first line
"Way out west in Wyoming". That is also listed as an alternate title.
I am in kind of a hurry but I checked several out of print book
sellers and couldn't find it there. Maybe one of the other
researchers can find
it.

Thank you! I'll try to find out more about this book, so I can figure
out whether it's the right one.

One more piece of data from the wife: it was a children's book.
