In approximately 2001, Acura ran a TV commercial which showed blurred
scenery and had very high energy jazz music playing in the background.
A caption stating "That was Aspen" appeared at the end of the
commercial.

I would like to know who performed that music and where a recording of
it may be purchased/obtained.

Hello Derek700,

Do you happen to know what model of Acura was shown in that
commercial? Can you tell me in what State you saw the commercial and
approximate date?

Thanks

Bobbie7:

I believe the model was the 3.2CL, but I'm not 100% sure. I saw the
commercial in Colorado. Although I saw it many times during the span
of weeks or months, I cannot provide a narrower time window than that
stated in the original question.

Could you please tell me if this is the music from the Acura

Bobbie7:

Thanks for the info, but that CD at Amazon (at least the samples) is
not it. The style is not a match. After listening to the samples, I
think I should clarify the style of jazz that was in the "That was
Aspen" commercial.

The music sounded completely "natural" in that there were no
"artificial" (synthesized) instruments. As best as I can remember, it
was a fully acoustic quartet. There was a piano, a trumpet, a bass,
and drums. There were no vocals, voices, or other non-instrumental
sounds.

I also recall seeing a chat thread a few years ago that said Nicola
Conte was NOT the performer. I concur after hearing the samples.
