appears to be less than the no. of nicknames  listed at
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=234933   
(and they can be counted by copying the list into MS Word document,
clicking 'Select
all','Numbering').
 

The comments posted by the 8 nicknames could be counted by copying the
whole page of "Puzzle Ordering of US States (very tough)" at 
   http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=50956
into a MS Word document, deleting everything from the top to the first
comment then clicking on "Find Next" of Find (of Edit) less than 40
times.
