Silly Googel, of course it does!

The question in question already has the most comments ever, and only
a bare handful of commenters there have posted more than one comment.

It doesn't hurt that Bryan is a popular fella with a bit of a
following here at Google Answers, and he keeps gaining new fans every
day.  If they keep posting to his question, he will absolutely
maintain his position as customer with the most comments *and*
different commenters with ease.

Thank you for the answer.
The thing is that according to question
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=234933
and my count, when the question had only 600 comments the no. of
commenters
was 93 or so while the question 
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=50956
had 107 comments and according to my count it had 88 or so different
commenting nicknames.
