Hi,
I have spent hours on the net trying to find a comprehensive list of
foods with their Glycemic Index values. I did find a huge database at
www.mendosa.com but it is based on Austrailian foods and is hard to
use. I also found smaller versions too but they were inadequate. Can
someone locate a good list. I would like a list of at least 1000
foods with some of the more basic stuff on there such as butter,
chicken, salt, pepper, etc, etc. Again, no Australian lists. There
are tons of them out there and most are inadequate for one reason or
another.
Thanks,

Hi Mediatek!

Thank you for asking for an answer!

The software I found is here:

NutriGenie Glycemic Index Diet for Windows
http://members.aol.com/nutrigenie/nggid48.html

According to their site, it's database holds 8,000 predetermined items
and allows the user to add his or her own personal items as well. The
software also allows for detailed nutrition analysis based on the US
RDA values and the USDA Food Pyramid.

I hope it suits your needs!

Thanks! I didn't think about buying software. It seems like the best choice.

Since the free International GI developed by the University of Sydney
won't suit your needs, perhaps you might consider purchasing software
that will:

This just might do. I'm going to take a look at it in the next day or so.

Hi missy,
I am buying the software you mentioned. It seems like the most
comprehensive out there. Post an answer and I will pay you.
Thanks,
