Hi there,
I did some searching and have found that MANY things could cause this
error. So you may have to do a bit of troubleshooting to get it
working.
The first thing you should do is examine the CD and make sure it's not
dirty or scratched.
Secondly, if the disc seems fine, try copying the entire contents of
the CD to a new folder on your hard drive, and then run the install
program from there. If you need an explanation on how to do this,
please let me know.

The CD is not scratched. I tried to install on another PC without any
problems.
Have copied the CD by using "send to" to "my briefcase" but I cannot
find the install program.

Hi csg-ga!
Prior to your attempt to install Nero, did you have (or do you have
currently) Adaptec's Easy CD Creator? It is now called Roxio Easy CD
Creator, although they are essentially the same product.

You may wish to review the following MSDN support article. I had a
problem with a CD-ROM drive not long ago, which related to the
UpperFilters property discussed in this article.
Please, if you follow the steps in this article, back up your system
or critical files, and proceed carefully. As the article states,
making registry changes is not to be done lightly, and can result in
damage to your operating system if not done properly.
You may also wish to search for "UpperFilters" on the Microsoft
Support web site at http://support.microsoft.com
I'm also not certain that this issue relates to yours, but it is
similar to one that affected me. If this works for you, please let me
know. I'm not posting this as an answer, as I don't have any way of
knowing if it is going to help.

As suggested i copied the cd to a folder and then tried to download from there.
I got a different message this time
neroexpress\nero\Cdi\CDI-IMAG.RTF
Does that clarify my problems?
