I am trying to obtain photos or newspaper reports of a wedding that took place in Holland, I think on 16 February 2002 in Haastrecht/Oudewater area between Ernst Boekhorst and Jorien Schuit. The wedding dress had a train of 776 metres and currently holds the world record. I have spoken to Guinness world records who say that now the record has been confirmed, all material has beenreturned to the record holder so they have nothing and they are not terribly helpful Any info published in local papers or photos anywhere would be appreciated many thanks |

I am not sure whether this helps, but if you are looking for the longest wedding dress, you should look for another one. I am collecting information about unusual world records, and I am the maintainer of http://www.recordholders.org. I am pretty sure that there was a longer wedding dress somewhen in the 80's used for a wedding in Germany. If I remember right, it was more than 1000 m long, and I am sure that I will find a photo of it in my archives. This wedding dress was never published in the Guinness Book of Records, which started the category later with lengths about 100 m "only". Unfortunately, as I am not an "official Google Answers Researcher", I cannot contact you to send the picture, and for copyright reasons, I cannot upload it on the web. |
