I want to bookmark an item on one page within a web site to another
item on a different page within the same web. I want to do more than
simply link to the other page I want to go to a specific spot on that

I believe the technique you need to employ is "named anchors."

http://www.webweaver.nu/html-tips/index.shtml#linking

http://textstyle.net/tipm/tips/html/links.html#within

Note that both sites above have used this technique in the links I've
posted.

If this is helpful, I'd be glad to find more sites that describe the
use of named anchors.

If the "named anchors" technique interests you, I've found
instructions on how to do this quite simply in Frontpage 2000.

Yes, the "named anchors" seems to be the thing I need. I would be very
interested in your FrontPage discovery.
Thanks a lot! It seems such a little thing but for some reason it kept
eluding me.

I'm glad my suggestion was helpful!

Here you'll find more info on creating named anchors in html:

The section entitled "Adding Links to a Named Anchor in Another
Document" on this page may be of particular interest to you:

Regarding the use of named anchors in Frontpage 2000, I have found
some online advice that looks good, but since I do not use Frontpage,
I cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. You might want to
try these tips, and if they don't work for you, then you can revert to
html, using the method outlined in the html tutorials linked above.

Here's some info on the creation of named anchors in Frontpage:

Google search strategy:

Google Web Search: "named anchors" + "html"

Google Web Search: "named anchors" + "frontpage 2000"

I hope this helps you to bookmark exactly as you wish. If anything is
unclear, or if a link does not function, please request clarification;
I'll be glad to offer further assistance before you rate my answer.
