Should we obey the laws of secular authorities, in relation to trafficv laws etc. The answer is simple and in the Bible. It`s found at Romans 13;1. "Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities [ the government of the day] For there is no authority except by God. The existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God. Even if the laws are unfair, this scripture obligates us to obey them. This does not mean that God approves of those particular laws. The onus is on the lawmakers to enact good laws for the benefit of all. If the lawmakers fail in their duty to enact fair laws, they will remain answerable to God himself... in the future. |
