LG 18.1" LCD with vertical colored, single pixel lines. No problems with
clock phase or conversion. Where could the fault be? How can I fix it by myself.

Some lines are grouped together, some are very far apart. there was
one line that flickered for a day and then disappeared for another day
then reappeared.

The LCD is on all the time with a screen saver.

Hi

The problem might line in the cabling to or within your lcd. It may be
possible to replace this cabling by yourself if you have experience
with these ypes of displays, but you risk losing your warranty or even
totally destroying your lcd. The best thing to do would be to call
your manufacturer and see if they can replace it for you (if it is
still under warranty), or ask about the price of repair.

A person on this page seems to have experienced the same type of
problem as you:

"After about 3 months, a single-pixel vertical line appeared from top
to bottom about three inches from the left. Samsung technical support
was extremely responsive. They sent another unit within a few days."

Here is another similar problem:
http://www.pbsource.com/contributions/readers/g3seriesdisplay.shtml
"I experienced the complete washed out of screen.(white out... loosing
contrast). Then vertical line showed up. And it went away when I
squeeze the side of the screen. I immediately called apple assistance
center(about 30min hold later... they told me to send it in for repair
service). They think it has problem with defective screen cable."

Hope this helps
