Helo again! I'm trying to find an adorable stuffed hippo for my
girlfriend. My fiend in the UK has one...it's big and blue. Here's a
picture

Where can I get one? I'll give a good tip, because this'll make my
sweetheart melt ;)

I've been doing some looking around, and I've found several sites and
products that are similar to what you requested, but not identical.
For example, some are purple, some are large and blue, but sort of
"floppy", and so on. I will be happy to provide you with what I have
and spend some more time looking, but I wanted to be sure you'd accept
this answer before I did- I have been unable to find an exact match,
although one was close. However, the "close" one was an auction item,
so there's no guarantee you'd win it.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Cyclometh

Hrm....give me the link to the auction one before it's over, and poke
around for a few days on the rest, and then give me what you've
got....that'll be good enough ;p

Here is the auction one:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Toys-dolls-models/Bears-soft-toys/0347-0188-/auction-5147237.htm

An auction item, closing on Monday, 11 August, this item appears to be
at somewhat close to what you are seeking, based on the picture you
provided. The auction price as of this writing is $20.00, with a
minimum bid of $21.00. You would have to create an account and bid on
this item to obtain it.

Since this is the closest I was able to locate, I will be happy to do
some more looking about and post my answer in a few days' time. If you
would prefer I not continue, please let me know. :)

Thank you for your prompt response. I look forward to hearing from
you.

Regards,

Cyclometh (cyclometh-ga)

Hrm...that one's OK. But what makes the one I'm looking for really
special is the crosseyes :) Keep up the search and tell me what you
find, I'll pay you for your efforts (but I'll pay you MORE if you find
the crosseyed one, heehee)
Don't forget, the one I'm looking for was bought in London :p

Hi Thanatos ~

I've been looking for that hippo, because I 'have' seen it around.

I found a similar photo here:

And wrote and asked the author where the hippo was purchased, but
they've never returned my email.

I still know I've seen it somewhere, but can't figure out where. It
has been bothering me so much, I'm still looking.

The cross eyed ones looks similar in size and style to what are
generally referred to as 'Beanie Buddies'. These are larger versions
of the Ty Beanie Baby with a flatter profile to be used as a pillow.
Ty wouldn't do a cross-eyed stuffie, as they tend to go for less
whimisical, so most likely it's a Beanie Buddy knockoff. Hope this
helps the researcher ;)
