Suppose you have 100 feet of fencing that you want to use to enclose
the greatest possible rectangular area of your backyard. First, draw 3
rectangles of different dimensions that each has a perimeter of 100
feet. Calculate the area of each of the 3 rectangles. After studying
your 3 rectangles, decide what would be the greatest possible area
that has a perimeter of 100 feet.

Hi there,

Draw rectangles of these dimensions:

A) 49x1
B) 30x20
C) 25x25

The area within each is:

A) 49 square feet
B) 600 square feet
C) 625 square feet

The answer is a perfect square of 25 feet by 25 feet.
